Oil on canvas "Les Haleurs" by Clément Quinton. Painter and engraver, born in Paris in 1851 and died in Saint-Maur in 1921. A pupil of Saurfelt, he began at the 1879 salon, honorable mention in 1907. He praises country life and particularly likes horses, his sensitivity and talent give an undeniable artistic dimension to everyday scenes. here haulers at work towing a barge, a very fluid scene that exudes a lot of serenity. We can still notice the subtle touches of color especially in the harnesses. Perfect state of conservation, no repainting or accidents. Period gilded stucco canal frame. Frame: 64 cm x 50 cm.
