"Pair Of Art Deco Aubusson Tapestry Armchairs"
Elegant pair of Art Deco armchairs circa 1925 to be compared to a work by Maurice Dufrêne presenting a gondola-shaped structure in carved wood depicting openwork backs of a decoration of trimmings flanked by volutes, they represent on front legs of tapered shape decorated on the shoulder with a sculpted honeycomb pattern and resting on the back on saber feet. The large seats are covered with an Aubusson tapestry attributed to René Piot featuring a cubist motif in the purest Art Deco spirit animated by trendy birds in lush vegetation. Good general condition, the seats are very stable and the tapestries are in a good state of use and conservation.
