Writing Table, Louis XIV Period In Ebony

Superb and rare writing table from the Louis XIV period in solid ebony. It rests on 4 ball feet connected to each other by a scalloped X-shaped crotch fitted with a top in its center. The fully turned compound base is made up of rosary beads at the bottom and double twists at the top. It is connected by a belt entirely scalloped on all 4 sides. On the front is a drawer with its original pull handle. The whole is decorated with a tray with draw sheets. High quality work made largely from solid ebony which is very rare. The double twist and the elegance of the fretwork gives a great lightness to this piece of furniture which is in excellent original condition.
