Barbizon XIXth Very Large Painting Signed Derians

Important painting oil on canvas period late nineteenth Barbizon School signed lower left A. DERIANS (great specialist in pastoral scenes). Beautiful impressionist composition animated by vigorous touches of paint of great virtuosity associated with a powerful palette of warm and intense colors featuring a shepherd and his flock of mountains progressing on the furrow of a communal path bordered by a windmill and a remote hamlet with thatched-roof houses, the whole being part of a lush sunset landscape whose bluish horizon lends itself to thinking of the ocean. Good general condition, the colors are superb, table highlighted in a refined 19th century gilded wood frame with rich rococo decoration animated with shells and foliage. This is one of the largest paintings found by this artist, dimensions: 1 m 20 x 90 cm / view: 92 cm x 65 cm.
