"Herman Richir (1866-1942), Portrait Of Young Woman, Dated 1936. (127cm X96cm)"
Very elegant portrait of a young woman signed Herman Richir, and dated 1936. This elegant woman is wearing a purple dress. She is kneeling on an armchair, her arms resting on the backrest on which is placed a silk shawl. In the foreground, in front of the young woman, is a pedestal table with a vase filled with flowers and an empty pocket. The background seems to represent a lacquered screen decorated with flowers and birds. It can also be a wall covered with wallpaper, which would perfectly match the decors of that time. Herman Richir (1866-1942) is a Belgian academic painter, having mainly worked on nudes and portraits. He is also considered a very talented portrait painter. He is one of the best painters for women. He was a painter, and professor of painting. Some of his students have won prizes. This artist also possesses a remarkable technique for painting textiles and tapestries, which can be found in many of his works. Its frame is in gilded wood, its canvas is original. The signature is located at the bottom left of the canvas. This painting is in good condition. Dimensions with frame: 127cm x 96cm. Dimensions without frame: 109cm x 79cm.
