Lovely sculpture representing an elegant young woman in a hat, signed by Georges Van Der Straeten, foundry stamp Société des Bronzes de Paris.Georges Van Der Straeten moved to Paris in 1883 and obtained a medal at the Universal Exhibition of Paris in 1900 and was appointed knight of the legion of honor in 1903.
He liked to represent in his works the graceful, elegant and seductive young Parisian women.
This artist is representative of the heyday, a period when Art Nouveau appeared.
