"Tibetan Lighter, India Tibet XIXth Century, With Flint And Etoupe Pocket"
Beautiful old Tibetan lighter with cut and chiseled decoration of fish and foliage
** India, end of the XIXth Century **
It is centered with a coral or ceramic cabochon in an entourage of radiant frieze.
The lower part presents the steel iron which is used to strike the flint in order to light the hearth.
The suspension ring is attached to a beautiful ornate bail with a faceted head.
By opening the pouch you gain access to the space where the flint and the igniter were placed. The leather is reinforced with ribs while emphasizing the central pattern.
