"Important Academy Drawing"
Large Academy drawing executed on paper, this charcoal on pencil lines and heightened with white chalk represents Diane Chasseresse. It is signed and dated 1874 lower right. This drawing is presented under glass in a Restaution frame. These drawings called "academies" were part of the academic education of the arts practiced in the nineteenth century.
