This painting of St John the Baptist is the work of a French School of the 17th century. his portrait presents him to us in a very well composed nature, seated at the foot of a tree with a waterfall, the element of water being associated with it.
Painted in the guise of a young man, see a teenager with curly hair, a very fine and delicate face with all the attributes that characterize him, he is dressed in a hermit's tunic belted in camel skin.
He holds in his left hand a reed cross bearing the phylactery Ecce Agnus Dei and stretches his right hand towards the sky.
At his side stands the Lamb, who by rising on his two legs and staring at him, gives extra life to this painting.

Table in very good condition, on its original canvas with frame marks.
