Watercolor on heavy paper which represents the old Trocadéro seen from the left bank of the Seine. On the right bank, you can also see the Haussmann buildings as well as the Palais de Tokyo and the columns that surround the peristyle. In the foreground, three barges are moored on the quay for their unloading from the pontoon. Pretty plays of light highlighting the movements of the water and the glowing sky at sunset. It is signed lower left G. Penicaud for Germaine Penicaud, this artist who worked a lot for the recognition of women artists in a field, at the time, almost essentially male. Member of French artists and female artists from 1909. She exhibited at the Salon of the Union of women painters and sculptors. The work is presented in its original frame and glass - deliciously bubbled - which has never been unframed as shown in the rear photo.
