Inside the cover a sea monster on a red painted background surrounded by a frame of foliage and flowers on a white background.
- Box probably from a toilet, a fashionable object at the end of the 17th century. Following the sumptuary edicts of Louis XIV prohibiting the production of such objects in precious metal, this production of "small objects" in wood, straw or varnished, Martin or Arte Povera, developed. We find this production largely in Italy and Provence, a few examples in Germany. This production could be as well works of Ladies or of specialized workshops.
