Object description :

"18th Century Dutch School, Pair Of Port Scene (h 49 Cm / L 74 Cm)"

This pair of paintings, work of a Dutch School, dates from the second half of the 18th century.
Called caprice or capriccio, it is characteristic of the seascapes of this time when the representation of the landscape is a fanciful sight with a juxtaposition of elements of reality. Built around a maritime activity where light boats of boats mix with sailboats, these paintings describe, with the insertion of small figures, a daily life of fishermen.
The composition is balanced with human activity, navigation in the foreground and that in the background in a blur that also suggests constructions, with finely crafted buildings, archaeological ruins and other architectural elements bringing a certain monumentality.
All this is in a gradient of blue lights where the cloudy sky and the sea meet with touches of leafy or dead vegetation.
This pair of paintings has been reentoilée, is in good condition.

Golden frames with slight losses and accidents. Slight dropout on the left in the frame for a painting.
