JF Chomel, born in Geneva in 1810 and died in 1876, was a student of art schools in Geneva. He also studied with Détalla and Auguste Beauvet. He often exhibited in his hometown, and he left paintings of military scenes in the Rath Museum. Chomel held the post of president of the administrative council of Geneva and was a member of the Council of Fine Arts. Oil on panel.
