He spent his childhood in Algeria and his adolescence in France (Franche-Comté). He moved to Paris where he became a pupil of Léon Bonnat and Fernand Humbert. He exhibits regularly at the Salon, receives numerous awards and subsequently becomes an associate.
He then settled in the Poitu, in Jaunay-Clan and painted several very luminous genre scenes there, as part of the tradition (Afternoon on the island, 1923, Sulle rive del Clain, 1927, Le bagnanti sulla riva, 1930).
He also created an important composition for the Institut Pédagogique de Paris: Le Pont Romain. In the last years of his life, he painted several canvases whose recurring theme is the play of light on the lush vegetation of his garden.
