Restoration Period Clock - Le Faune Flûteur - Gilt And Patinated Bronze - After The Antique flag

Object description :

"Restoration Period Clock - Le Faune Flûteur - Gilt And Patinated Bronze - After The Antique"
Patinated gilt bronze clock decorated with a young faun playing the flute. He is leaning on a tree trunk and is dressed in a panther skin whose head rests at the top of the trunk near a panpipe. The ground is strewn with plants. The base is decorated on the front with a frieze decorated with a tambourine, a flute, a pitcher, vine leaves and pine cones and below a frieze of palm leaves. The whole rests on two feet with the head of the god Pan. Beautiful finesse of the carving of the bronzes and beautiful original gilding.

Height: 51 cm Width: 35 cm Depth: 12.5 cm

Condition report: Good general condition. Original gilding and patina, small traces and scattered spots. It seems to be missing an element of the decor on the base (see last photo). The absence of gilding on the sides of the base of the clock seems to be original (economy of material at the time). Note that the movement is not wire, that the mechanism may be later and that it has not been tested and that the balance and the dust cover glass are missing.
