"Pair Of Caryatid And Atlantean XVIII"
This rare pair of caryatids and Atlanteans are emblematic of a time, the beginning of the 18th century. it testifies to a particular taste for this type of architectural ornament which then invests the interiors. Far from the famous antique model of the caryatid (often embodied by a draped woman with a cold and a little harsh expression illustrating authority and power, as on the facade of the Erechtheion in Athens very expressive and semi-nude. This man-woman couple, of a high quality of execution, is exceptional both by its size length 61.5 cm width 10 cm depth 11 cm
