Object description :

"Pair Of Royal Chairs Made By Jacob For King Louis Philippe At Bizy Castle"
Pair of Empire mahogany chairs. Stamp of Jacob Desmalter (1803 1813).

Our seats have other marks underneath, that are proving a Royal Provenance : King Louis Philippe in his castle of Bizy. (https://www.chateaudebizy.com/) They were probably part of a set of 40 pieces made for the dining room.

That type of chairs is typical of Jacob's work under the Empire and for the imperial residences and later royal under the restoration.

The 2 seats were totaly restored with a new varnish. We were inspired by a pair of seats made by Jacob as well and exposed at Malmaison castle. Silk velvet and real gold stripes. They are in perfect condition.

Height : 91cm
Seat height 44cm
width : 48cm
