French Louis XV period, large armchair « à la Reine » with cane bottom in natural wood molded and hand-carved, the back with shell and net molding and ribbon, and decorated with burst shells, acanthus leaves, staples. Our armchair rests on curved roll-up legs.

Interesting and elegant Louis XV period work circa 1750, attributed to Jean Baptiste Cresson. Our attribution is based on a set of stamped seats that we are pleased to present.

Measurements: H 38.18 In. - W 27.55 In - D 21.25 In. - H seat 15.74 In.

Our old lacquered armchair is in a good condition of use.

Cresson Jean-Baptiste, 1720-1781:

Son of Charles Cresson. Master in 1741. Established and worked at Rue de Clery. His Legend often appears on the Louis XV seats.
