Old frame in gilded wood (usual wear), caramel mat. Frame dimensions: 42 x 48 cm.
Dimensions at sight of the etching: 26 x 33 cm.
Redness in the margin and on the right side of the landscape. The colors are very fresh. All the photographs were taken with the glass from which certain reflections or inaccuracies.
Jean-Baptiste Mallet, born in Grasse in 1759 and died in Paris on August 16, 1835, is a French painter. A pupil of Simon Julien in Toulon, then of Pierre-Paul Prud'hon in Paris, Mallet produced small-scale gouaches and watercolors, which constitute a veritable chronicle of the society of the Directory and the First Empire. The work of Jean-Baptiste Mallet is very marked by Greuze, Fragonard, born like him in Grasse, and Louis-Léopold Boilly.
Prot (XVIII-XIX) is a French artist, burin engraver around 1800.
