Although not located stricto sensu within the Montparnasse district, a famous historical center of artistic and intellectual life in the capital, the name of this institution is often associated with it. Founded in 1904 by the Swiss Martha Stettler (1870-1945) and dedicated to both painting and sculpture, it was very famous at the beginning of the 20th century.
