Papua, Lime Spatula From Collingwood Bay flag

Object description :

"Papua, Lime Spatula From Collingwood Bay"
Colingwood Bay lime spatulas are rare and elegant, little known to the public of collectors and therefore to be considered as a work of art. This one is exceptional because of the quantity of shells still present around its perimeter. As a chief, the spatula was used to take the lime in a suitable container and place it in the mouth. We can notice the strong wear and patina on its end, despite the density of the wood in which it is carved. It is also engraved with numerous chevron patterns and concentric circles on both sides. It dates from the very beginning of the 20th century.
