he contemplates the horizon with a piercing gaze and a hand on his forehead, seeming to watch out for any probability of prey, one leg resting on a rock.

our bronze is signed Kowalczewski on the back of the rock. Paul Ludwig Kowalczewski is a Polish German sculptor born in 1865 in Mielzyn in Poland and died in 1910 in Berlin in Germany.
He studied for three years from 1895 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin and from 1899 to 1906 he regularly exhibited his works there in major art exhibitions: Art Nouveau sculptures, bronze busts, sometimes birds etc ...
his brother Karl was also a sculptor.
