Sèvres - Box Of Mantes Hard Paste Porcelain 20th Century flag

Object description :

"Sèvres - Box Of Mantes Hard Paste Porcelain 20th Century"
Box of Mantes in white porcelain from Sèvres, Mark of sevres for the year 1965 ground. Imagined in 1903, the Boîte de Mantes is a classic form of the Sèvres repertoire. This everyday object is the medium of artistic expressions for artists invited to the Manufacture de Sèvres. The lid and body are turned by hand and cooked together to undergo the same cooking shrinkage. Without this precaution, the diameter of the lid would no longer correspond to that of the box. Under the patronage of Louis XV, the Manufacture de Porcelaine de Sèvres has become one of the most influential manufactures in Europe. Sèvres has continuously produced new fashionable models which have been widely admired and imitated.
