Polychrome ivory okimono representing Daikoku, the most famous of the seven gods of happiness; he wears his mallet which he uses to strike his bag of riches to bring out presents. Easily recognizable by his pointed goatee, swollen earlobes and low beret. Signature in a red lacquer cartridge (Sazan?), Japan ca 1900. Height: 10cm
