"Rothschild"
Very beautiful chiffonier table from the old collections of Barons Robert and Alain de Rothschild, bearing the inventory number 2396.R and a label 23 for 23 avenue Marigny, (hotel built by Baron Gustave de Rothschild, son of James, founder of the bank French).Oak frame, satin wood veneer, amaranth burl inlay, gilded bronze. Our table conceals a drawer in the belt, this belt is structured in four animated sides, which with the departure of the arched feet, each have a lower cut in the handle of baskets, these feet, connected by an oval crotch shelf, ending in hooves in lion's paws.
Geometric marquetry decor developing a trellis pattern, which thus forms a network of diamonds, each punctuated by a quartefeuille. Our piece of furniture from the first half of the 19th century is very close to the work of the cabinet maker RVLC (Roger VanderCruse dit Lacroix).
