Already as a child he felt a strong passion for drawing that led him to attend the Louvre rather than school. He began to paint seriously in 1903, exhibiting at the Parisian Salons: Salon de la Societé Nationale des Beaux-Arts, des Indépendants, d ’Automne. He lives in Montmartre and is a friend of Utrillo, Valtat and Leprin, whom he encourages in their artistic path.
He is the painter of the now vanished Paris, that of the old districts, of the deserted alleys, of the steep stairs of the Butte. He often paints Le Moulin de la Galette, the basilica of the Sacred Heart, the fortifications.
While his friend Utrillo depicts popular life, Quizet only paints places where the human presence is banned. He prefers ranges in the colors of earth and ocher, applied in a fluid way, underlined by thick black strokes. Together with his Norwegian painter friend Heyerdahl who lives in an atelier in the Bateau-Lavoir, he rents a small garden located near the Moulin de la Galette to use as a studio. He often frequents the “Lapin Agile” cabaret and exhibits some paintings there. At the Salon de la Societé Nationale des Beaux-Arts a painting of him is purchased by the collector Olivier Senn (later sold to the Musée du Luxembourg).
In 1921 he exhibited at the Salon des Indépendants and at the Salon d 'Automne. Through Signac he comes into contact with the merchants of the Galerie Marseille who give him the opportunity to successfully present the works to the public. In this period he lives in Belleville and the atelier, small, bright and very tidy, is set up in the attic of the house.
Galerie G. Denis in Paris organized an exhibition for him in 1945 and Mac Orlan wrote the introduction to the catalog of works.
The Musée du Petit Palais in Geneva organized an important retrospective for him in 1976.
