Pewter Bleeding Palette By Boicervoise In Paris, Circa 1760 flag

Object description :

"Pewter Bleeding Palette By Boicervoise In Paris, Circa 1760"
An unusual shape for a Parisian medical tin of a bleeding paddle without an ear. The palette is signed by André-François Boicervoise with two hallmarks. According to Claude Renner (see his article on page 221: http://www.biusante.parisdescartes.fr/sfhm/hsm/HSMx2004x038x002/HSMx2004x038x002x0219.pdf) only French pallets made in Toulouse or Semur-en-Auxois were without handle. This is therefore a rare Parisian example. Beautiful condition and beautiful signature of a famous pewter maker. Diameter: 12 cm like all bleeding paddles.
