ARCHER'S BRACELET Papua New Guinea Gulf Region Late 19th century Shell, wood and plant fibers H .: 13; L .: 20 cm approximately This rectangular section archer's wrist guard is made up of four rows assembled alternately of three and four shell plates. They are cut, drilled, polished and held together using ligatures of plant fibers and assembled on hinges of wooden sticks. Provenance: Former Fortess collection, Hawaii.
