GODDING, Emile Hendrik Karel (Bruges 1841 - Antwerp 1898). Charcoal 47.5 x 35 cm Signed lower left Godding, Emile Hendrik Karel is a painter and draftsman of portraits, figures and genre scenes. According to G. De Graef, he was born in 1844. Pupil at the academy of Bruges and at the studio of Van Hollebeke. He settled in Antwerp in 1874 and exhibited in Brussels, Ghent, Antwerp in 1885, in Munich in 1883 and 1890 and in Philadelphia (Dictionary of Belgian painters).
