"Rare Office In Gradin Italy XVIIth Century"
Rare Italian stepped desk from the 17th century. The feet are in black and gold lacquered turned wood. The cabinet is inlaid with wood and coated with a polished marble concretion forming part and counterpart on the uprights and various decorations on the drawers. This type of work is found in the floors of Venetian palaces. The work of part and counterpart made with these stones recalls the work of BOULLE in French marquetry. The interior of the drawer is lined with a posterior leather. The rear part is not inlaid. The whole is in good condition, slight ripple of the sliding plate. Spring from a weak lock.
