"Set Of Four Louis XV Period Armchairs Stamped Lc Carpentier"
Beautiful set of four rechampi beech wood armchairs from the Louis XV period, France, mid-18th century, Circa 1750, with large cabriolet backrests molded and carved with flowers and foliage on the top and the falling angles, as well as the aprons, the front feet decorated with staples terminated by clogs with shells. Stamp of Louis-Charles Carpentier (received Master in 1752) on 3 of the reinforcing crossbars under the seat (characteristic of this carpenter in seats) Pretty stitched tapestry trim with floral motifs in perfect condition. Reinforcements under the seat and small usual restorations. Beautiful suite of armchairs in perfect condition and in their original paint with wear of time. LC Carpentier was a carpenter for the Prince of Condé and the Duke of Orleans, and notably delivered seats at the Palais Bourbon in Paris. Carpentier chairs of similar models are in the public collections at the Louvre Museum and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. Further information on request.
