17th century “cassone” chest in walnut, decorated with foliage on the pilasters and applied motifs on the facade panels. Often offered by the husband on the occasion of the wedding, it was intended to contain the sheets of the bride's trousseau. Cassone is a preponderant piece of Italian furniture.
