Magnificent Pair Of Italian Late Baroque Musical Angels In Golden Wood, 70 Cm

Pair of musical angels sculpted by a skilled sculptor between the end of the 17th century and the beginning of the 18th century in the central Italian area,

in fact these works perfectly express the taste of the late baroque of the time: the details of the faces, the hair is well marked and the wings are also very well sculpted. An important subject in the sculptor's analysis of the formal rendering of these products is given by the splendid rendering of the clothes, naturally the pleats above the waistband and those of the lower part which dynamically support the "march" of the angels and the influx of external factors, in fact the clothes seem to float in favor of the winds.
The angel musicians are very well preserved, they retain almost all of their original gilding. They need a restoration, in terms of the stability of the additional elements (wings and trumpets).
