Oil on canvas 19th century 81 / 63cm with the frame 61/43 cm without the frame French School Signed Dubuisson 1834 Alexandre Dubuisson, born June 25, 1805 in Lyon and died February 12, 1870 in Versailles, is a French animal painter. Alexandre Dubuisson was born on June 25, 1805 in Lyon. He entered the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris in 1827 and studied under Hersent2. He shows his work at the Salon in Lyon in 1833 and in Paris in 1835 and wins a third class medal in 1844. He lives in Lyon2. He produced portraits of animals, in particular animals placed in landscapes or military scenes. In 1849 he married Marie Caroline Pionin, a native of Claix, and bought the delphinal castle there. He died on February 12, 1870 in Versailles.
