"Wax Case To Seal - Stamp In Sterling Silver, Early 18th Century"
Solid silver wax case, Regency period, first half of the 18th century. Our case is used to store the stick of sealing wax, to sign with the seal which is at the end, which has remained blank of any monogram or coat of arms. This object is therefore a "2 in 1" object: case and seal to seal. It bears witness to the refinement of French high society in the 18th century. Beautiful object of good quality, decorated with foliage and very finely chiseled. It is in excellent condition. Provenance, large Lorraine collection, in the same property since the beginning of the 19th century, we offer several other showcase objects that have never left the Nancy region for nearly 200 years until today.
