"Louis XVI Gilt Bronze Clock Signed Imbert Lainé In Paris"
Gilt bronze clock by Imbert Lainé. The clock rests on a marble terrace supported by six spinning tops. Allegory of love, a cherub surmounts the cage holding a wreath of flowers. Lack in his other hand, from a mark, maybe an arrow? Framed by scraps of fruit and foliage, the body of the clock is adorned with rudent asparagus grooves. The enamelled dial has a slight shock to the right winder. In working order, an adjustment is to be expected. Access to the mechanism is via an openwork panel representing floral motifs.
