A picturesque subject with a vigorous touch for this oil by painter Charles Malfroy. The work is carried out on a canvas mounted on a wooden panel, it is framed in a simple wooden frame which suits it well which measures 46 cm by 54 cm and 46 cm by 38 cm without the frame. The frame can be changed. It is signed and dated 94 lower left and located "Moulin à Saint Thomé" lower right. It represents a Mill on a river with a washerwoman washing her clothes. Charles Malfroy is in the post-impressionist lineage. Attracted by the light of the Mediterranean ports, it excels in views of the Côte d'Azur and the Bouches-du-Rhône, in particular the port of Martigues. He also painted some pictures of Venice.
