"Karl Daubigny-1846-1886"
Karl DAUBIGNY 1846-1886 Karl Daubigny is much more than the son of his father Charles -François Daubigny, for those who know his work, he is a very talented artist. Died at the age of forty, he was one of the greatest French impressionists. He showed early gifts. He mainly painted landscapes of Normandy and the forest of Fontainebleau. In his paintings, the sketch is largely treated, in a flexible way, in muted tones. You can feel the influence of the Dutch. From romanticism, he kept a particular and momentary emotion by achieving a fusion with nature which he was very fond of. Attentive to light, he paints nature, paints it for itself. This is the secret of its success.
