EXCEPTIONAL CUP IN POLYCHROMY PAINTED PORCELAIN AND MERCURY GILDED BRONZE. FROM THE NAPOLEON III PERIOD. CIRCA 1850. SECOND EMPIRE IN THE STYLE OF THE 18TH CENTURY SEVRES PRODUCTIONS. NO SIGNATURE. VERY RICH DECOR PAINTED ON LIGHT BLUE BACKGROUND IN 2 CARTELS: 1 scene of puttis on a wooded terrace (flowers, baskets, vegetation etc.) and the other cartel painted with a rich floral bouquet. THESE 2 DECORATIONS ARE ENHANCED BY MATT AND GLOSSY GOLD RELIEF. ON EACH SIDE OF THIS CUP 1 CHIMERA-SHAPED HANDLE IN GOLD AND CHIMNEY BRONZE. THE TOP OF THE CUP IS SET IN 1 CUT-OUT AND CHIMNEY FRIZE WITH SMALL SHELLS AND ROSETTES. THE CIRCULAR BASE IN GOLD BRONZE IS IT EVEN CHISELED AND SLOTTED SUPPORTS A PAINTED PORCELAIN BASE DECORATED WITH A GARLAND OF FLOWERS ENHANCED WITH MATT AND SHINY GOLD WHICH IS EVEN SUPPORT FOR 3 SUPERB "LOVES OR PUTTIS" IN THE "ATLANTES" WAY. SUPERB CONDITION OF THE MERCURY GILDING OF THE BRONZE FRAME. SUPERB CONDITION OF PAINTED DECOR AND MATTE AND GLOSSY GILDING. VERY GOOD CONDITION OF THIS SUPERB AND RARE OBJECT: however, I point out 1 vertical micro féle 4 cm high starting from the top and coming in the cartel painted with 2 Puttis.
