Oil on hardboard representing a seated woman holding a violin.Inscription on the lower right part :Jeanine Delvar seen by E Lang.France, circa 1950. Good condition .
Dimensions without frame: h: 72.5cm, width: 60cm.
Evgueniya Aleksandrovna Lang (1890-1973) born in a family of the Moscow intelligentsia, entered the Moscow school of painting, sculpture, and architecture with her friend Mayakovsky circa1911.Then between 1922 and 1924, she studied at the Academy of the Arts in Dresden ,she left for France where she lived for 40 years, exhibiting her works in several salons including the Salon des Tuileries in 1937 where she won the silver medal, the Salon d'Automne (1937 -1943), the modern art fair in 1946, the Monaco biennial in 1950 where she won the first prize. She also exhibited in several galleries in Paris, Nice, Monaco and Brussels. She returned in 1962 to the Soviet Union where she will decide to settle.
