COLONEL LE MAT REVOLVER Model 1877 (patent February 12, 1877)

This nine chamber barrel revolver, caliber 11mm model 1873, has the particularity of having two cannons. A main cannon and a second shot cannon that can be actuated thanks to the tilting part placed at the end of the hammer. The central barrel is 15 mm in diameter. It is engraved in capital letters “Colonel Le Mat. Patent ”on the upper panel. Interior of the mirror barrels, striped for one and smooth for the other. In its original white polish.
Waxed wooden plates.
Perfect mechanical operation.

Invented in 1856, this revolver owes its name to its inventory, Jean Alexandre François Le Mat. It was used in the Confederate Army during the Civil War. Called a “handgun”, this name refers to its short-dimension barrel.
