"19th Century Earth Globe"
Terrestrial globe late 19th century - early 20th century drawn by Charles Périgot. The globe is made of cardboard covered with a lithograph, it pivots on a steel axis and held at the top by a screwed brass ball. The whole is fixed on a turned and blackened wooden foot in good condition. Some wear to the paper, take a good look at the details photos. Good stability. Base diameter: 15 cm No restoration. Note: despite some geo-political changes to date, this object remains informative and very decorative. A very low price considering its age and condition. Charles-Auguste Périgot, born January 22, 1828 in Rouen and died June 17, 1885 in Paris, is a French geographer and historian. He is the author of precise geography and classic atlases which have rendered great service to the studies of his time. He is especially recognized for his General Atlas of Ancient Physical and Political Geography, of the Middle Ages and Modern, Paris, F. Tandou, 1865. Thank you Internet.
