Bronze bust with medal patina representing Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) resting on a circular black marble plinth. The bronze is signed on the back and in the hollow: F. Barbedienne. Ferdinand Barbedienne (1810-1882) is a French industrialist and great bronzier of his time. He created and directed one of the most important art foundries of the XIX, he became the official supplier of the Emperor Napoleon III and of the Empress Eugenie. It bears the stamp: "A.Collas Mechanical reduction". Beautiful patina and quality carving. Total height: 25 cm
