This portrait on horseback of Napoleon is painted on ivory, from the XIXth century, it is inspired by the painting of Jacques Louis David (1800 - 1803) where Napoleon is represented during the crossing of the Alpine pass of the Great Saint Bernard by the army of reserve which marks the beginning of the second Italian campaign.
