Tobacco mortar, also known as Pilou,Popular Art of Auvergne XIXth.
In boxwood turned and circled on three levels of pewter.
The pestle ends with a serrated iron ring to grind the tobacco in the mortar.
The pestle and mortar are both boxwood and go well together, from origin.
Turning hole at the top of the pestle and at the base of the mortar.
Good condition, beautiful patina.
Note two small wood retraction fels due to seniority.
