foundry stamp Susse Frère in Paris And inscribed on the edge Susse Fréres in Paris
With green patina on marble base and gilded bronze, the faun dances accompanied by a horn.
Eugène Lequesne; pupil of Pradier at the School of Fine Art in 1841
He traveled to Italy knight of the Legion of Honor in 1855
His works were influenced by antiquity, many of his works are at the opera, at the Gare du Nord and at the courthouse as well as in the Luxembourg Gardens where the dancing fauna can be found.
