Colonel (Aimé) Laussedat (April 19, 1819 – March 19, 1907) was a French scientist, more specifically, an observational astronomer, geodesist, surveyor, photogrammetrist, and cartographer.He was director of The Conservatoire national des arts et métiers (National Conservatory of Arts and Crafts) from 1884 to 1900 which is when Sir Henry Doulton himself presented him with this beaker which commemorates the golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria in 1887.
This is a unique piece of Doulton history that belongs in a museum, presented by the great man himself.
