Aime Perret: "the Harvest" flag

Object description :

"Aime Perret: "the Harvest""
Aimé Perret (1846-1927) "The harvester" pencil and stump on thin paper, approximately 47X32 cm, monogrammed "AP", badly glued on a cardboard with some blisters and an accident on the top of the head as well as in periphery.
Thanks to Mr. Boublil, whom I warmly thank here, the author has finally been identified, thus corroborating the text below.
This powerful drawing can be linked to the famous "Barbizon School", the one which generalized open-air painting often on peasant subjects or countryside landscapes. The noble robustness of this young peasant woman, walking a little arched by the weight of her enormous sheaf of wheat, transcends the subject and her gaze seems to wonder about the activity of the designer ...
With great mastery, it makes one think of two great Masters of this movement: Jean-François Millet (that of "l'Angélus", marvelous painting overused by the innumerable chromos which were drawn from it) and more still, perhaps Julien Dupré who represented the peasant world at the same time with realism and tenderness.
