Warm colors for this painting by Marseille artist Pierre Marseille. The work, in good condition, measures 50 cm by 61 cm and represents a hamlet (certainly in the Provençal hinterland) animated by characters and chickens. It is signed lower left. Offered unframed, but may change. Pierre Marseille was a discreet, sensitive painter with an assured profession, producing seascapes and landscapes that were both balanced and poetic. He has mainly exhibited in group exhibitions and Salons. It can be found in 1923 at the Salon des Indépendants in Paris. He participated in the various exhibitions of the Painters Proletarians between 1931 and 1936 in Marseille, at the Galerie Detaille and at the Maison de la Culture. He painted during the occupation at Les Angles near Villeneuve lez Avignon. His works are often cataloged at the Union des Artistes de Provence, the Société des Artistes Provençaux, the Salon d'Allauch, the Salon de la Mer and the Salon d'Automne in Paris. At the Musée de Cassis: "Route de l'Arène" At the Musée des Beaux Arts in Marseille at the Palais Longchamp: "landscape"
