Old wooden frame with gold, gray and beige patina. (Usual wear: there may be a few scratches, chips). Frame dimensions: 59 x 75 cm.
Dimensions of the watercolor 35 x 53 cm. Signed and located "Toledo". Very good quality, a palette of clear and vibrant harmonies.
Charles Swyncop, born in Brussels in 1895 and died in Brussels in 1970, is a Belgian painter, designer and lithographer. He followed an artistic training at the Academy of Brussels (1908-1920) with Jean Delville and Herman Richir. Charles Swyncop took part in a group exhibition at the Maison d'Art Moderne in Brussels in 1920 with Jean Colin, Philippe Swyncop, Arthur Navez, Samuel Milbauer, L. Bisschops, Jean-Jacques Gailliard and J. Payro.
He collaborates in the realization of the gigantic canvas of Panorama de l'Yser by Alfred Bastien. He exhibited at the Triennial Salon in Ghent in 1933.
He traveled to Rome, Venice, the Basque Country and Spain.
